Editorial policy

Where our numbers come from, how we check them, and what we do when one is wrong.

Where our numbers come from

Our pay figures come from official statistics. Every table names its source and the period it covers.

  • Pay by job: the Ministry of Manpower's (MOM) Occupational Wages tables.
  • Graduate pay: the Ministry of Education's graduate employment surveys.
  • Jobs and unemployment: MOM and the Department of Statistics (SingStat).
  • CPF and tax: CPF Board and IRAS.
  • Job descriptions: SingStat's occupation list (SSOC 2024).
  • AI exposure: the International Labour Organization (ILO).

If we add other sources in future, such as job ads or salary surveys, we will name them on the page and show them apart from the official figures.

How we check them

We save a copy of every source file. Before a page goes live, our build compares each figure on the page with that file. If a figure does not match, the page is not published.

  • Our own sums: figures we work out, such as yearly pay from a monthly figure, are labelled as our calculations.
  • Calculators: tested against the worked examples published by CPF Board, IRAS, KWSP, PERKESO and LHDN.

How we write

We write each page from the source data, with help from writing tools. Every page is checked against that data and reviewed before it goes live.

Our pages give figures and rules, not financial, tax or legal advice.

What the dates mean

  • Beside a source: the period the data covers, such as June 2025.
  • Updated: the last day the page changed.
  • Next update: the date of the next official release, on data pages.

Advertising

We may carry advertising or sponsored listings. Advertisers cannot change a pay figure or its source: figures always come from the official data. Anything paid for is labelled as sponsored.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, please let us know through the contact page, with the page and the figure if you can. Once we have checked it, we will fix the page and update its date.
