How the estimate works
MOM publishes three points for each job: the 25th percentile, the median and the 75th percentile. The check fits a smooth pay curve through those three points and reads off where your pay falls.
- Estimate: the percentile is approximate, especially far below the 25th or above the 75th percentile, where MOM publishes no figure.
- Same basis as MOM: gross monthly wage of full-time resident employees in private-sector firms with 25 or more staff, June 2025. Bonuses and employer CPF are excluded.
- Age: MOM publishes the median for each age band, so the age comparison shows the median only, not a full range.
- Privacy: each check is saved as one anonymous row (job, age band, pay, and any detail you add), with no name, email or IP address. If you ask for the PDF report, your email is kept separately with that report request (job, age band and pay). See the privacy notice.
How to use your result
- Below the 25th percentile: three in four people in your job and age group earn more. It is a fair basis to ask for a review.
- Around the median: you are paid in line with the market. Results and new skills are the case for more.
- Above the 75th percentile: you are among the best paid. Compare total pay, not just basic, before moving.
- Next step: ask for a rise with the salary increment letter, or check what a new offer leaves after CPF and tax with the job offer comparison calculator.
Common questions
What is a good salary in Singapore?
It depends on the job. MOM's median gross monthly wage was S$5,775 for full-time residents in 2025, but occupation medians range from S$1,600 to S$20,000. Compare against your own job, not the national figure.
Should I enter basic or gross pay?
Gross: basic pay plus fixed allowances and overtime, before your CPF deduction. Leave out bonuses. MOM's figures use the same definition.
My job is not in the list. What should I pick?
Choose the closest MOM title. MOM groups jobs by the Singapore Standard Occupational Classification, so some titles are broader than a company's own job title.
Why does my company's job title not match?
Job titles vary between companies. Compare by what you actually do, not the title on your card.
Why does my age group matter?
Pay rises with experience. Comparing with people of a similar age gives a fairer picture than the whole job.
