What it means
  • Registered vs enrolled are two occupations, not two grades. Registered nurses earn 51.5% more at the median.
  • Wide range: S$2,582 separates the 25th and 75th percentile for registered nurses, because staff nurses and senior roles share one title.
  • Allowances matter: gross sits S$267 above basic, mostly shift and other allowances.

Starting salary for nursing graduates

Nursing degrees start at S$4,000 to S$4,200 a month, with narrow ranges. Entry pay looks structured rather than negotiated.

What it means
  • Similar across programmes: medians sit within S$200 of each other.
  • Narrow bands point to structured entry pay scales, not negotiated offers.
  • Compare a first offer with these figures, not the S$5,210 all-ages median.

  • NUS response rates are low (57% and 61%), so treat those figures with care.

  • Larger employers pay registered nurses more. For enrolled nurses, smaller employers such as nursing homes pay more.
  • These compare two groups. They are not an adjusted pay gap.

Foundific projection v1, not official data. Central estimate = average of the last two MOM medians + economy-wide wage growth (3.73% a year, from MOM median income and the MAS inflation forecast). Tested on 2025: typical error 8.1%; 78.7% of actual values fell inside the 80% range. How the projection works.
What it means
  • Estimate: this is our projection, not MOM data. MOM's June 2026 figures are due around mid-2027 and will replace it.
  • Most of the projected rise is economy-wide. Single-job figures move a lot from year to year because MOM's survey is a sample, so the engine leans on the economy-wide trend.
  • Jobs are only projected when their history is steady enough for a useful range. None of the jobs on this page qualify yet.

What it means for nursing
  • Most exposed task: Updating patient records is the enrolled nurse's one exposed task, at 0.62.
  • Least exposed tasks: Wound care, giving medication and pain management score 0.06 to 0.12.
  • One title, several ILO groups. SingStat also links registered nurses to midwifery, and enrolled nurses to midwifery and medical assistants. We show the nursing group.
  • What exposure measures: how much of the work AI could do or speed up. It does not measure job cuts. Employers decide how to use AI.
  • Pay so far: The registered nurse median rose from S$4,003 in 2020 to S$5,210 in 2025.
